Is a high sex drive a "sex addiction"?

At age 23, Gretchen Moranen was afflicted with a strange condition - in one day, she would experience nearly 50 sexual arousals, even though she had no desire to do so. Walking down the street or sitting in the library, for example, her body would start throbbing uncontrollably and spontaneously.

There was nothing she could do about it.

Many people think of sex addiction as simply having a high sex drive, but in fact a high sex drive is a normal biological response, and sex addiction is much more frightening.

Sex addiction is an excessive preoccupation with sexual fantasies, urges, or behaviors that the person cannot control and continues even when there is negative feedback from the body, such as when harm has been done or danger is present, and is a compulsive behavior.

Patients with sexual addiction generally have the following characteristics:

1. Inability to stop and control their sexual behavior and fantasies;

2. Feeling sexually driven to do things and feeling constant pain and regret after the pleasure of sex;

3. Trying to control their behavior, but always failing;

4. shame and even severe anxiety and depression problems;

5. Compulsive behavior toward sex affects interpersonal interactions, work, and makes it impossible to live a normal life.

Why are they "dominated" by their desires? Sexual addiction is not a rare disease; according to a survey, there are about 42 million sex addicts in China, and there are two general causes of this disease:

One is the psychological state of the person under the influence of the environment

Why do some girls have a stronger sex drive? It may have nothing to do with sex addiction.

"Overexposure" isn't just a horny scene that keeps flashing in your head; it's a dominant physiological response.

When the brain is overrun with "eggworms," there are physical changes such as swollen nipples, labia, and clitoris; the opening of the vagina; increased breathing and heart rate; and redness of the body's skin ......, which means sexual arousal. In 2017, a study led by Nipissing University in Canada found that looking at faces may be able to observe whether sexual desire is strong or weak.

The study, which surveyed 314 students from different Canadian cities, found that men with shorter, wider faces not only had higher sexual desire but also had more submissive attitudes when it came to casual sex and were prone to infidelity with their partners compared to men and women with other faces.

But it should be clear that the sample size of this study is relatively small and should only be used as a reference, and it cannot be assumed that a shorter or wider face necessarily means a higher sex drive; after all, everyone in the world is first and foremost, and life is most real when experienced firsthand.

The concept of sexual addiction is still controversial in academic circles, and there are still many considerations that must be taken into account when measuring whether or not a person is sexually addicted. Sex is a normal human need, and as long as it is within the bounds of what is reasonable and legal, more is more, and there is no need to compare it to others.
